From now on, the entire access granting process for visitors, employees and contractors is fully facilitated through YIM. The platform is a further development of Dataclient; a workflow identity management solution from Nsecure since 2008, which enables organisations to digitise their access processes.

Complex access process dures translated into simplicity

More than 35 million cubic metres of crude oil is throughput annually, a quarter of the total throughput in the entire Europoort area. The oil is stored in 33 tanks, with a combined storage capacity of 2,754,900 cubic metres and pumped via pipelines to various customers at home and abroad. Around 300 tankers dock every year. In short: access, compliancy and safety play an essential role in TEAM Terminal's extensive operational business processes. ‘With our YIM platform, we ensure that complex access and safety procedures are translated into simplicity. YIM streamlines the registration and accreditation of visitors, employees and contractors. This way, safety and legislation and regulations are captured in the access processes and embedded in the daily business activities of TEAM Terminal,’ says Alex Smaling business manager IT & Identity YIM.

Safety at 1 thanks to YIM

During the development phase, the YIM platform was continuously tested by end users against the objectives of speed, user-friendliness and compliance with laws and regulations. Then, after this extensive testing period, the platform was successfully launched. ‘We are very pleased with the user-friendliness and look and feel of YIM,’ says Irene Kolditz, Facility & Security Coordinator at Team Terminal.

‘It is important for us that a partner can relate well to our daily processes, strict security protocols and knows our terrain. All these issues have been translated within the YIM platform. Access to our site is now done digitally through YIM. Even when contractors perform work, specific information is requested depending on nationality and type of work. Within a digital file, all documents and certificates are stored. In this way, we overcome risks with regard to security, illegality, labour law or taxation,’ says Kolditz.

Demonstrable compliance with laws and regulations

Smaling: ‘With YIM, we ensure that organisations are fully compliant and have continuous insight into their security and access processes. The necessary accreditation and compliance go much further than just access control. The challenge lies in securing laws and regulations in security systems, correct processing of personal data, documents and the security procedures that apply to a large area such as TEAM Terminal. All these facets are addressed in a user-friendly way in YIM. There is a real-time link to the access control system.
